(Spring: Fresh Faces) The Classic Bombshell, 03.23.11

Yesterday was my big photoshoot day working on hair and make-up with a local photographer. I decided to practice and post! I think the look has an innocence about it that goes well in the springtime, as well as every season! It's classic, and it works! A few nights before, I also practiced on a friend, hair and all. It turned out well, and, the shoot went fantastic! I'll be posting some 'teasers' up for you guys soon. For now, enjoy this!
This is my ongoing project I'll be posting about ASAP!

Kit haul, and, B2M!

The last few weeks, I've been preparing for a sweet pin-up shoot I get to do on Saturday! There's going to be custom rods, and everything! I'm extremely excited about it. Since I agreed to do it, I've been stocking up on essential stuff. Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè for the moisturizer. New Duo lash glue. Ben Nye Final Seal, and steel palette. La Femme (ultra-crazy-pigmented) blushes. And, finally, MAC's N1 Face & Body, as well as a replacement Orb eyeshadow. The most exciting part of my MAC stop-off was the lipsticks. I am working on an on-going project that resulted in many items for the Back2MAC program. Since the limit was 24 empties per day, I stuck with getting four lipsticks. My main goal was getting a nice brown, Neon Orange, and possibly Up the Amp. I ended up getting Photo, Morange (forgot Neon Orange is Pro-only!), Up the Amp, and, last but not least, Rebel. Swatches for those will be up soon! While at MAC, I also got another sample of the Pro-Longwear Concealer, and, Full Force Violet pigment. It's close to Marine Ultra, but, has more of that indigo tinge to it. Not quite worth being called violet either, in my opinion! Have you guys tried any of these products?

Seche Vite sale at Sally's Beauty Supply!

Hey guys! This last week, I stopped in to Sally's to pick up some more Seche Vite, and, what do you know? They're on sale! From now, until the end of March, if you buy their Dry Fast Top Coat, you get the Base for free. And, honestly, you could probably get away with what I did and just pick up two of the top coats instead! It's a great deal since they now retail for just under $8 a pop! Sally's site doesn't ring up any buy one, get one discount, so, I believe this is in-store only. They have several thousand stores though! Check to see if there's a Sally's near you here!

MAC Quite Cute, April 2011

Here in a few weeks, MAC is releasing another collection that I gotta admit.. I'm kinda stoked about. Yes, yes. We've seen Sweetie Cake, and Sugarsweet for their previous prom season collections. Now, it's Quite Cute's time! I'm loving this one a little more because it's inspired by Harajuku. I've always had a soft spot for Japan and it's awesome culture! So, why would I not enjoy MAC releasing some gorgeous lipsticks, nail polishes, and, blushes inspired from it. Lushious Beauty made a great post about the collection with the promo shots of products in all. Go check it out!

(Spring: Fresh Faces) Chanel's Les Fleurs D'été De Chanel

Yesterday, I had the day off and decided it was time for another look that actually included some color in it! A few days back, I was on pixiwoo's blog and saw the new promo pic for Chanel's upcoming Summer collection, Les Fleurs D'été De Chanel. Even though it's for Summer, I think it's a great look for Spring as well. It's colorful, but, soft and sheer at the same time. Still lets your natural features show through! I ended up using mainly MAC, but, I think this is one of those looks that can easily be duped with drugstore products, and, anything else in your collection! Enjoy!

(Spring: Naked Nails) love&beauty's Taupe

The other day, I bought love&beauty's Taupe polish from forever21. It retails for $2.80 online, and in stores! Taupe is a gorgeous lighter-toned taupe with purple undertones. I think it's one of the best shades for Spring because of it's sheer quality, and, it's romantic hue. It goes with any outfit you can imagine, as well! It has a creme finish with minimal shimmer. Two coats was all it took to give an opaque finish. In my opinion, it's a great addition to any polish collection!

Itty Bitty Baby Haul!

My exciting news for the week: I got my first paycheck on Thursday! Yay! I've been conserving my money for months now, so, this haul is a little introduction to shopping again. Haven't done it in so long! I ended up going with a friend to the local shopping mall to pick up Clinique's Brush On Cream Liner in True Black for my kit. I'm still in the testing stages of it, and, I'm completely in love so far! Also picked up my most wanted MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium. That is complete love so far, as well! Then, a sample of MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer. My current opinion is that.. I want that full size, por favor! And, two polishes from forever21: Coral, and Taupe. Which, I'm actually painting my nails with Taupe and posting this!Enjoy!
And, this photo was taken with the new camera! Woot!

(Spring: Naked Nails) Essie's Atlantis Pearl

A few years back, I bought a 4-pack of mini Essie polishes. It was apart of one of their collections that I got at Trade Secret. In it was Atlantis Pearl. This polish is such a gorgeous creamy, milky white with little particles of shimmer. It's formula is sheer, which in turn had me put three to four layers in the end. But, it's totally worth it! My favorite drink of all time is milk, so, Atlantis Pearl is a nice reminder on my nails. Although it's not listed on Essie's site, it still is easily available at several online retailers!

(Spring: Fresh Faces) Jadeye

The day after I did the Lancome look, I kept with the cool brights and did an easy duo-tone liner paired with bright pink lips. Another day at work prevented me from doing my original all-out look! This is completely wearable, and, the lips can be changed to just about any color and still look great with the aqua liner. I was originally going to do something with either MAC's Myth or Wet n' Wild's Just Peachy, but, I just bought Show Orchid from the CCO the day before and couldn't resist! I'm so happy it's in my possession now. It's been on my wishlist forever and a day! On the eyes, MAC's Jadeye Fluidline was limited edition years back. They have plenty of cream and kohl liners that can replicate it now. With how soft it is, an eyeshadow in the same hue could work great! Just layer a smidge of black liquid on top, and, you have success!

Skincare Questions for You!

So, I have some quick questions on skincare recommendations from you guys! I am running out of face cleanser, and moisturizer. I'm also looking into getting an eye make-up remover, and a night time moisturizer.

Currently, my skin is slightly dry, but, I get oily on my nostrils by the end of the day. My skin isn't too sensitive either!

I'm about out of Philosophy's Purity cleanser, which, hasn't impressed me with the chemical smell. My moisturizer is Wei East's Bright Lights Rice Milk Face Cream. It's worked great on my skin, but, retails a heavy $30+ each tube! And, it only lasted me 3-4 months.

If any of you have any cruelty-free companies that have great skincare that won't rob me solid, I'd love some recommendations!

(Spring: Fresh Faces) Lancome's Ultra Lavande

A few days back, we had a glorious day outside! The sun was shining, and, we had a nice breeze going. It got me in the mood to wear some soft spring colors so I could stay in 'dress code' with my job! A few days prior, I had saved Lancome's new Ultra Lavande collection promo pic. It's completely gorgeous and wearable. Now, they do bring the purple a little far out, but, always custom fit a look to your style! I received so many compliments on this look because the shades of purple really enhanced my eyes and played off the blush and gloss, as well. And, most of the eyes were created with Wet n' Wild products! I did use a little of MAC's limited edition Violet Trance eyeshadow, but, there are plenty of matte violets to go around now! Make-Up Forever's #92, and Sugarpill's Poison Plum are definitely great substitutes. Now, I wish I had more time to take in depth pictures before work, but, this look is so wearable, I might re-post it with better quality pictures soon! Perfect for spring, perfect for any skin tone!

(Spring: Naked Nails) Wet n' Wild Private Viewing

This morning, I got up a little bit earlier to do my nails up in Wet n' Wild's MegaLast Nail Color in 204A Private Viewing. It retails for just under $2 at most drugstores and superstores. For the price, and, the quality, Private Viewing isn't too bad a polish at all! It took me roughly three coats to get full coverage, but, I also got some gnarly staining from my last manicure, OPI's Make Love! If you see a slight yellow tinge on my nails, that's why! I've never had problems with nail stains, except, with that polish. Very strange! Anyways, Private Viewing is the perfect mannequin nude nail for lighter skin tones. I bought it a while back, during the mannequin nail craze! It's finish is a sheerer cream, and, up-close, has the slightest hint of shimmer. Here is your Private Viewing!

Spring/Summer 2011: Bright and Bold for Lips.

Last fall, we got to see previews for the Spring and Summer trends of make-up! I especially liked the simple look Fendi did for their show: silky skin, dark lashes, and, the contrasting neon lip. It's easy, and perfect for Springtime. Perfect for those ready to break out of the Winter blues! I was so excited about this, I pulled out all my bright lip colors and swatched them for you guys. All of these are still available to buy too. As always, you can click the pictures for bigger images!

Bringin' It Back: August 2007

Do you remember the days when MAC's Slimshines ruled? Over three years ago now! The only one I owned was my precious Urgent! Slimshine. Now, MAC has moved on to the Sheen Supremes! They just released this Thursday, March 3rd, here in the US. I'm stoked to try some of them out! Anyways, back to 2007. I was starting my senior year of high school, and wearing neutrals like nobody's business. Only to put the attention on Urgent! Sunday was my first day on the job, so, a little snazzy smokey brown and a glossy red lip was my calling. I've had MAC's Showstopper eyeshadow for months and it was the first time used. It's such a great cool, matte brown-almost-black color. Enjoy this neutral!
