Wet n' Wild Morbid polish swatches!

Last week, I finally broke and painted my nails after a long recovery for my damaged cuticles! After going through my polish bag, I realized that my poor Wet n' Wild Craze polish in Morbid hasn't been touched since it was bought! It has an almost deep plum base that doesn't really show through much with all the deep blue-green flecks. The color swatches beautifully with only one coat. I ended up putting 2 coats on just to deepen it and have more dimension. Recently, I came across Viola from Killer Colours' post on nail polish finishes. She relinked the post from Michèle over at lacquerized from this post on the 25 different nail polish finishes. It's a great directory if you're starting to get into polishes, or if you're just a good, ol' fashioned, texture-freak, such as myself! I'm going to guess that Morbid has a glass-flecked finish. If any one else has a better guess, tell me down in the comments!
looks like you're at the bottom of the ocean looking up at the sun!

Sugarpill update!

So, it could be wrong that I'm saying this because I don't own one single Sugarpill item to my collection yet! This weekend is their 'Pink Weekend' event in coordination with all the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals going on. Yesterday, the 26th, was the only chance to get 30% off, but, you can still get 20% off on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (the 27th-29th)! I have to tell you guys.. that I am so proud of myself! I've wanted Sugarpill every waking minute it's been available, and I had my cart full. I even went to the bank to transfer money into my checking account to buy it. But! I resisted because of bills, Christmas, and my student loans. It's crazy what this time of year can do to a person, haha.

I also wanted to inform everyone on their new product that's coming out, called 'Glorify Eyeshadow Primer'. I haven't heard anything about it yet, up until the e-mail, but it's exciting!

It's also being rumored that Amy is coming out with some pressed shadows and lip glosses?
Either way, I'm stoked! Now, only to get my hands on some Sugarpill!

Turkey Day, 11.25.10

Hey guys! Happy belated Thanksgiving Day! Hope you've all recovered well from the over-gorging, haha. I was eating turkey and my chocolate chip cookies for the solid afternoon! This year, I did a pretty simple warm smokey eye with peach and deep cool brown colors. To add a splash, I finally tried my Kat Von D Autograph liner! It's SO beautiful, and it goes on pretty opaque on one swipe. It was applied on the inner-V, which gave the look a futuristic vibe! Swatches, with the look to follow:

a little blurry, but it was darker IRL

Les Tentations, 11.19.10

So, I'm back with some recent inspiration! I was browsing my Bloglovin' and came across Bella's Beauty Spot's post on Chanel's 2010 Holiday collection, Les Tentations. The promo picture is simply gorgeous. Of course, me being me.. I made it way more intense than it was. See, I usually prepare for my camera not justifying the colors, in return, a clowned-up version of what I was really going for, haha. But, anyways.. without further adieu! The promo picture followed by the look..

NYX lipliner pencil swatches!

Today, I have seven lovely swatches for NYX's lipliners! I've had them since this summer and have used them A LOT. The more sheer colors are Tangerine, Coral, and Currant. And, then we have the opaque colors which are Orange, Pinky, Bloom, and Purple Rain. They retail anywhere between $2-$4 depending on where you can find them! Right now, Cherry Culture has them for $2.50 on sale! Here are the swatches..
(in the same order as above)

No Make-Up Monday!

So, most of us have already have our faces on by this time of day (well, 10:00am CST) right? But, is anyone participating in 'No Make-Up Monday'? I received a message on Facebook yesterday for the event and was curious to how big the event actually is. I, myself, have declined because I had my State Board test this morning and looking professional was part of the deal! What about you ladies?

Culture Couture Runway Show!

Hey guys! I'm sorry it's been a couple days! I was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off the past few days, haha. One of my old classmates, Whitney, at my hair school jokingly asked if I could come do her model's make-up for their classes runway show! I live three hours away from my school now, but I was coming down to visit my parents for my mom's birthday so, I happily agreed to do it! The runway show was based on individual country's head-to-toe style. Whitney had India, which I ADORE! Her model's were Iana, who was from Brazil, and Laura! I was super stoked because I've never done any Arabic/Indian-styled make-up, even on myself, and I was getting a lot of kudos from everyone at the show. Yay! Okay, you guys enjoy!

Ventriloquist Doll, 10.31.10

Aww yeah! Halloween time! This year, I didn't have anything planned out for Halloween night itself, but, regardless, I had to dress up two nights in a row. Last year, I planned to dress up as a ventriloquist doll, which didn't end up working out. So, I threw an outfit together and went this year! Luckily the make-up didn't take as long as the night before, haha. It was definitely a challenge though with the symmetry of the eyes! I already can't wait for next year!

Dia De Los Muertos, 10.30.10

Yay! Finally back with my Halloween looks. Sorry I didn't post yesterday! I came up with another costume and wanted to wait and post them both! My first night was based on Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. I took the general idea from Sylvia Ji's paintings, which are my love! I mixed up the designs though with the spade nose, the heart and web forehead, rose chin, and filigree cheeks! Some of my favorite elements in her paintings. I ended up pinning the wig up into a large side-bun and sticking the flowers in it and spraying it all down. It was a lot of fun, but, a bunch of tedious work! It took me roughly 5-6 hours just on the make-up. Yep. It doesn't look that difficult, but when you have a detail-perfector like me.. it is, haha. Enjoy!
