It's the most wonderful time of the year!

What does a 30" wig,
some fake flowers,
and, a very messy Mehron palette all have in common?
It's my costume, woot! I know, super cheesy, but! It's all in good spirit. This weekend is such a blast! My favorite holiday of the entire year. I also live in a university town, which makes it even more interesting. I'll post pictures tomorrow of the costume and extras! For now, here's my pumpkin for this year..
What's everyone doing for Halloween, and better.. what's your costume?! Have a safe one!

More goodies!

Oi! Guys.. I'm having a minor.. teensy, little itty-bitty problem with spending money lately. It's going out the door every day anymore! So.. this will probably be my last haul for a little while anyways, haha. I got in on the Sephora Friends&Family Sale (20% off until Nov.3rd! Use "FF2010" at checkout!) last week and received it the other day. Then, on the same day, I was taking my written exam for my cosmetology licensure, passed, and went to MAC. My main intention was to get an application and talk to the MA for a while. Well, they still had HALF of Venomous Villains at the counter. So, I got one little treat for myself for passing!
My free samples..
My main haul: Urban Decay Primer Potion Pro Size, Kat Von D Autograph Liner in Brass Knuckles, and Sephora Metallic Polish in Rock
And, my "pat-on-the-back to myself" gift. Oooooh, aaaaah!
I'll do some swatches of these later! Did anyone else haul from Sephora?

Last Minute Halloween ideas!

This morning, I was going through my pictures and realized I had a small gallery of Stage/SFX make-up! They were done a couple years ago when I was taking a Stage Make-Up course at my old community college. I figured this would be perfect for anyone who was looking for some ideas for easy face paint looks for Halloween! Enjoy!
Kabuki
Animals: cheetah, super-theatrical lion, and a red panda
Half-face Comic Book Girl
Old Age SFX (one of my favorites!)
A simple take on a sugar skull.
And, when you have some scarwax layin' around, you can do these as well:
(my boy is such a good model, haha)
Hope these help some of you guys out this year, and good luck!

Tartan Tale look @ Accidental Beauty!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to post a little link to Resha's site, Accidental Beauty! We've been going back and forth about doing a guest look for a little while, and I managed to do a "A Tartan Tale" look based off of MAC's 2010 Holiday collection that's releasing in a few days! I took my main inspiration from the promotion pic, which has that gorgeous model with the beautiful natural red color to her hair! I couldn't resist, simply. My look ended up being more dramatic than hers because I didn't have the correct lashes.. but, it's still nice for the holidays!

And, I just wanted to give a shout-out to any new followers: Hey! I hope you guys enjoy everything that is to come! :)

itty bitty haul at Kansas City's CCO!

Yesterday, my friend and I headed to Kansas City to meet up with her family. But, of course, we couldn't resist stopping by the HUGE outlet, The Legends, on the way. I've never been to the Cosmetic Company Store there, and was way amped to go. I also talked to the ladies there for a little bit and grabbed an application for future hiring (I would die!). Here's my "small" purchase..
So Sweet, So Easy Cremeblend Blush, Showstopper e/s, Perennial High Style l/g, Lush & Bright lipgelée

And also.. Now, you guys can follow me with Bloglovin!

Wet n' Wild Shield vs. Sinful Colors White Diamond

GOOD NEWS!! I'm finally done with my nail polish break.. not with buying it of course! But, my nails were getting a little beat up from cuticle remover, polish, acetone, repeat. So, I took a little break with that and now we're back with some swatches. The other day, with the Wet n' Wild Holiday find, I found an old(?) Sinful Colors nail polish called 'White Diamond' (cue the corny Elizabeth Taylor commercial!). The label isn't the same as the normal line, so I figured it was discontinued or something! After I bought it, I realized it's white-gold-silverness reminded me of the Wet n' Wild Craze polish in 'Shield' I had bought a few weeks back with this haul. So.. I did a little experiment to compare.. here are swatches!
After 1 coat of each polish:
(Ape hands!) After 2 coats of Shield, 3 coats of White Diamond:

Wet n' Wild Color Icon Palettes - Holiday Edition!!

Holy crap guys! I found all four of the palettes at my local Walgreen's today! I only bought two because they were the only ones I could see myself actually using. The four coming out are Night Elf, Golden Goddess, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Snow Sprite. I bought Night Elf and Golden Goddess for myself. What I didn't realize is that the palettes came in a plastic folder including a free mini Color Icon eyeliner that coordinates with the palette. Each set costs $5 just like the other Color Icon palettes! I swatched those as well for you all to see! Once again, I'm super impressed with the quality. Will add some pictures of dupes to these palettes soon! Enjoy!
The mini-pencils included: Copper and Black
Golden Goddess (L), Night Elf (R)
Shadows are swatched from T-B, L-R! Half was swatched with base, half on bare skin!
Same as above, but I wanted to show the difference of having a base with the red and black especially.

Cruelty-Free!

Right now, I'm in the transition of making my collection considered "cruelty-free". It's not too much of a change because 95% of it already is good to go. But, I'm having to replace a few items that are my Holy Grail products, such as my mascara! I've researched A LOT this weekend, which is why I haven't posted aside from also being with my family, and have been putting the official Cruelty-Free hair, make-up, nails, and skincare list together. Once I put it out, if any of you know of some companies you'd like me to add.. just let me know! I feel it's very important for any cosmetic company to not test on animals. I do know there are regulations by certain government agencies (EPA, FDA, etc.) that force animal-testing to happen. But, a company is considered cruel when they keep testing after the regulated parts are finished. There are quite a few companies that are considered cruel, but there are so many other options! I'd love to hear your opinions on the matter!

Paul & Joe Lipstick C!

So, I meant to post this several weeks ago when I first heard word! Paul & Joe came out with a Fall collection including these ADORABLE cat lipsticks. Brilliant idea, since at least half of all the make-up addicts are cat lovers alike! From swatches I've seen, they're all a nice glaze formula and gives a nude, pink, or peach tint. Of course, if I had one myself, I wouldn't use it at all because I'm included in the cat-lover category! But! By chance, if a make-up company finds this post.. make cat-shaped lipsticks, make millions. Enjoy! The lipsticks with their cute packaging.
(from L-R): 066 Claire de Lune, 067 Over the Moon, 068 Moon Shadow

More swatches, and pictures are available at Makeup and Life! It looks like after much searching.. there aren't very many available anymore.. but there's always Ebay!

leopard luxe, 10.03.10

Ugh, sorry for not posting for a while! I was going bisserk because my internet was out for a few days. But I'm back with an FOTD from a week or so ago. It's based on the Leopard Luxe face chart from MAC's sort-of-recent collection, Fabulous Felines. I thought it was a super sleek and gorgeous look, so I thought.. why not? I also thought it would be fun revisiting the first make-up look that was ever recorded of me since it was a "leopard look". Enjoy!
The resemblance is uncanny.. haha.
Face:
Revlon Colorstay in 180 Sandy Beige
MAC Harmony, Blushbaby
MAC Invisible Set Powder
MAC Select Cover Up in NW45 (spots)

And stay tuned during the next week because I'm going to be doing individual looks and swatches on each of Wet n' Wild's Color Icon palettes! Yay for 6 gorgeous colors for $5 a pop! Have a wonderful weekend!
